When you travel to Quepos and Manuel Antonio, whether it be to fish or just to experience the beauty and the Imperial, you will find that there are a lot of different places to lay your head at night. These places range from hostels, where you might be showering with that stinky hairy dude that you saw on the canopy tour, to 5 star resorts like the Gaia in Manuel Antonio, where there might be a few staff members to shower you, fan you with a palm frond and feed you grapes if you so desire.
Also, remember that when you come to Quepos, you also come to Manuel Antonio... and vice versa. Considering that Quepos is really the portal to Manuel Antonio, you may stay in one to vacation in the other.
I will try to touch on a few that I have experienced and some that I haven't. You might be looking for a bargain, you might be looking for some pampering... either way, take a look.
Vista Serena Hostel
No, I didn't misspell hotel. This is really a Hostel, located in the
Manuel Antonio area that only charges $12/night. I have never stayed
in the hostel, but have met the owner and seen the place and it is very
nice as far as a hostel goes. And for 12 bucks it sure beats sleeping
on the street. This hostel also has bungalows that can be rented out if
you are traveling in a larger group, and some inexpensive tours that
have been setup by the owner specifically for backpackers.

Hotel California
A place where you can check out any time you want, but you can never
leave. Sorry for that. Equipped with a restaurant, pool and an ocean
view, the Hotel California is a nice place to stay. The rooms are
decent and it is right in the heart of Manuel Antonio... a 3 minute
drive to Quepos. http://www.hotel-california.com
La Mariposa
This hotel is known for its view of Manuel Antonio and for the
infinity pool with swim up bar. There is not much for your little guys and
girls to do and your kids. If
you want to see the awesome view and swim in the infinity pool, go
there right around sunset and bring your baggies. You will have some
beautiful photos of an amazing sunset.

Si Como No
Si Como No, which means "Sure, why not," is the perfect Manuel
Antonio hotel to bring the family to. Although the prices here are not
in the bargain basement range, the amenities that will keep the kids
busy while you sip on a Mojito are worth the extra buck. There are a
few different pools, one which has a sweet water slide. Also, I know
that at least one hotel has a swim-up bar... maybe two. With a full
service spa and top notch restaurant, the "Claro Que Si," you might go
home broke, but at least you will be happy, this hotel is nothing short
of bad-ass!

Costa Verde
Costa Verde hotel in Manuel Antonio is my favorite place in the
whole
are of Manuel Antonio and Quepos. I have stayed here more times than I
can count and the experience has always been exceptional. The views
here are out of a postcard and the staff is super nice. Many of the
people that work here have become some of my best friends in Quepos.
