Quepos Fishing has been picking up offshore a bit in Quepos lately but slowing down a bit inshore due to some rough inshore waters.
Boats fishing offshore are reporting back a steady bite of Sailfish, Tuna and Wahoo, with some Marlin in the mix in the last few days...
The Bigeye released a Marlin yesterday, and the Oaran II lost a 500lb+ monster on an offshore Quepos fishing charter.
We have been doing a lot of work over the last few weeks deciding what our next move will be now that the Precedent is gone. We have kicked around many different ideas from staying in Quepos to going back to the States to moving to another part of Costa Rica. The concensus was that we are definitely not moving out of Costa Rica. The beauty of the country and the people here is just too much to leave. We would like to stay in this country for the long haul.
However, after a few weeks of pounding the pavement here in Quepos with no results and a good job offer up in Nosara with a friend we took a trip up north to spend some time... and we loved it! So we will be moving yet again.
I will still keep this site up and running via information from friends here in the Quepos fishing industry and I have been doing a lot of work to the Fish Quepos site, making it a news and information portal for all parts of fishing in Quepos, from charter companies to fishing families. So take a look at the site and put your two cents in... I think you will enjoy it.
