About the Quepos Fleet
The ever changing fleet of boats in Quepos, Costa Rica. Is it possible to display them all? Well, I will try. With boats constantly moving from Quepos to Herradura to Flamingo and back to Quepos it is impossible to say exactly which boats will be at the pier on a given day, but the following list is a start. I will keep this list as updated as possible... boats, crews and everything.
Generally, a full day charter will include lunch, refreshments, drinks and beer. All bait, tackle and fishing equipment will be provided as well. All that you should need is a fishing license, some sunscreen and some breakfast in your belly. And, of course your choice of seasickness medicines if you are one of those.
Prices on the boats range from around $800 to $1,500 (there are some charters offered for up to $2000, but those are a specialty charter) with the main difference in price being the size, comfort and amenities on the boat. (Air Conditioned cabin, toilet, places to sit down and get out of the sun) If you are going for a day of gruff, grunting guy fishing and you are used to the rough waters, then a smaller boat might do you just fine. However, if you are fishing with a party of 4 or more, or you have anyone with you that is not a seaman that reads archived issues of Florida Sportsman daily, you may want to spend the money on a bigger, more comfortable boat. The extra price of admission is often worth not having to hear your wife or your buddy upchucking 3 feet from your Costa Rican fishing experience.
I have not fished on all of the boats, but I at least know something about most of them. If you need some more info I would love to try and help. Email me anytime at
