Quepos Fishing Report is here to display the everyday life of fishing and living in Quepos, Costa Rica. This site will feature a constantly updated report straight from the docks of Quepos... what is being caught, where it was caught and what was used to catch it. I will also report on what is happening behind the scenes in the Quepos fishing industry because after all, there is much more that goes into a day of fishing than the ride to the hole, the trolling and the reeling.

Every time I leave Quepos I try to find out what is going on in the Costa Rican fishing world by emails, phone calls and forum posts and you know what I have found? That I might as well just wait until next time I go. 

That is why I began building this site, which will display information about not only fishing, but everything that makes Quepos, from the unbelievable natural beauty that surrounds the location to the kind and faithful local community. I will focus on bringing the real Quepos to people around the world.

When I first came to Quepos in 2002, I was so taken by the culture of the Ticos and the beauty of their country, I told myself that I would one day live here.

For years I vacationed here as many times as possible while I was a student at UF studying Journalism and Photography. 

In about 2005 my dad bought a boat in Quepos, The Precedent. This has enabled me to tag along on more frequent trips to Quepos and has brought me closer and closer to being an honorary Tico.

So partly because of the new excuse of "checking on the Precedent" I have been able to come over here a ton, and now here I am, living in Quepos with my family. My daughter, Neko, will be growing up bilingual and learning to walk in the beach sand. Daina and I are having a blast experiencing her life.
